For the past 20 years, I've been spending most of my holidays and vacation time somewhere in the Southwestern United States. While my early trips were rich on the customary dash from one National Park to another, experience (and likely also age) made me wiser over time. Now, I'm mainly backpacking my way through the remote and roadless corners of Utah and Arizona, always in search of the rare springs, tinajas and water holes that allow me to extend my hike by another day. These pages were created to share some of the less known sweet spots Utah and Arizona have to offer. If there weren't the day job that keeps me distracted, I sure would have material enough to fill a book or two.

Should you have questions, feel free to get in touch - my homepage shows an email addres you can use.

While obviously addicted to the Southwest, I also go hiking closer to home... Read my write-up of a weekend backpacking trip along the Appalachian Trail, using only public transport between New York City and the two trailheads.
